On October 25th, 2005, On October 2005, Dan led the charge to kill upgrades to Lake Otis and Tudor that would have provided congestion relief at the Lake Otis & Tudor even though federal funds had already been appropriated for that project and voters had already given the city a green light to go ahead. At the October 25th Assembly meeting Dan Coffey states "The Plan adequately addressed transportation; it created solutions for all the problems except for Tudor..." On March 23, 2007 . . .
Facing a tough re election campaign and after hearing Midtown residents demand the city do something about long delays and traffic hazards at Lake Otis & Tudor, Dan flip flops on the issue and announces he will introduce a resolution putting the Lake Otis& Tudor project back on the priority list in the city’s Transportation Plan.
